FAQ
Short answers to common questions.
Which prices can I use?
Any price feed Pyth publishes: metals, energy, FX, equities, rates and crypto, more than 1,700 in all. Search one in Open a series.
Why can't a position be liquidated?
Every pair is paid for in full when it is minted: the series holds the band's width in USDC for each pair. What LONG and SHORT pay at expiry always adds up to exactly that, so there is never a shortfall to cover.
What happens if the price leaves the band?
Above H, LONG pays the full width and SHORT pays nothing. Below L, SHORT pays the full width and LONG pays nothing. Inside the band both move point for point with the price.
When can I get my USDC back?
At any time by merging one LONG with one SHORT. After settlement, each side also redeems on its own for its fixed payout.
Who settles a series?
Anyone. Ditto's keeper settles each series once its expiry price is available, and you can also do it from the series panel.
What does Ditto Spot hold?
LONG of this week's series plus L in USDC per unit, and it rolls into next week's band every Friday. See Ditto Spot.
Can I leave a Ditto Spot vault during a roll?
While its auction runs, deposits and withdrawals pause for the auction window. If the auction ends without an offer, withdrawals open again right away, in USDC.
Why did my withdrawal return no LONG?
LONG comes out in whole tokens, rounded down, and the rest comes back in USDC. The app tells you which share amount takes the next whole LONG.
What does it cost?
The mint fee on pairs and the roll fee on Spot vaults, both shown in Parameters, plus Solana's network fees. Merging and redeeming have no Ditto fee.
Why does opening or settling take a few transactions?
Pyth's price arrives as a signed message that Solana verifies before Ditto uses it. The app posts and verifies it, runs the Ditto action, and then returns the temporary account's rent to you, all in one approval.
My transaction stopped halfway. What now?
The app keeps the transaction's place. Choose Resume in the banner or the tray, and it picks up where it stopped with the signatures already made. If the transaction never reached Solana, the app tells you so, and you can try again.
Which wallets work?
Any Solana wallet extension that supports Wallet Standard, such as Phantom, Solflare and Backpack. A hardware wallet works through such an extension.
